Lurkers indeed.
I liked it. I learned things.

I didn't like it.

Couldn't get through it...almost everything was either mentioned in the first one or knowledge that I had previous learned.

Got through 1 1/2 hours of it and just had to stop. Was boring me to tears.

This one focused on what can be done and the fact that there are things that can be done, where the first ones focused on convincing us that we're fucked if we don't do something drastically different. A worthy sequel.

I realize that, however it was shit I already knew.

Not saying it's bad, but Zeitgeist is supposed to shock me/wake me up to something that I didn't know before.

Here is the 'sort-of-review' I did while watching it:

"Likes:
- The look at addiction.
- The prenatal development of humans.
- The exposing of overconsumption. While the idea has been used many many times, I still am a sucker for seeing it done in a documentary.
- The mentioning of advertising as a method of conditioning. This again seems very obvious, but I find it funny how few people understand it.
- Cool to hear from the ex-stock broker.
- Documentary makes me want to move to Norway. Nor?
-13:00:00 mark and little to no mention of the Illuminati.

Dislikes:
- The vastly ignorant idea that Native Americans didn't commit acts of violence before the white man.
- The rehashing of the idea that money is essentially worthless. I feel like they already covered this in their last film and it now feels redundant and hard to watch.
- I'm writing this about about an hour in and I have yet to be shocked or told something that I really don't know. Planned obsolescence...fairly obvious to anybody that is even slightly aware of capitalism.
- Money= Debt again rehashed...
- 1:30:00 mark and still not positively shocked or surprised.
- I swear they only interviewed like three people. For the love of god, find other people to talk about your subject.

I honestly couldn't continue past 1:33:00...this documentary is terribly boring. Everything said was rehashed shit that either I already knew or was stated in the previous Zeitgeists.

If somebody can confirm that it picks up past where I stopped I'll continue to tomorrow, but right now...I can't continue watching it."

Weight for it...

Eh, I really liked it, for the most part. The beginning with capitalism was interesting and relevant. I especially like the part of economic hit-men. It's a subject I've been reading about for a while, and it's a wonder more people don't address it when talking about our national policy.

Though I should say that "Venus project" bullshit really seemed to be pushed. I hate when a documentary both establishes a premise and runs too far with it. I feel the entirety of the movie needed to be made to convince, instead of acting like, "Oh, now that you're convinced here's what we need to do..."

I also don't buy that "technology is the answer" theory. Has this man never read a dystopian novel? Technology can free people, but it can create means of social control. Think about it: Right now people are posting facebook comments about Libya and actually convincing themselves that it somehow helps.

my thoughts exactly -- everyone wants responsibility pushed away from them...it'd just be a technocratic form of what victorian slavery was...some might argue little has changed since
