They last a few years (gone through four of 'em), longer if I didn't mistreat them, but it is time for a new one. I spent half an hour on the phone with the old guy in the warehouse, looking for my size (7 3/8) in any of the straw models with pinched front and 3 1/2" brim. He told me what I knew from emailing the company - that they quit making this entire line, and all he was likely to find would be off sizes. I could hear him moving the boxes around and his voice getting tired, so I was ready to call off the search and let him have a sit down when he finds a Cavalry model with no bullet hole. Perfect - I'll shoot the motherfucker myself, ship that bitch. Itsa week later and I open the box all happy to try it on, and he sent out a 7 5/8. Son of a bitch. I don't know anybody with a head that big. Now when I call the place a machine hangs up on me like out of business style. I'm sad to think I've worn my last Charlie 1 Horse. I am now going to try a Stetson Diamond Jim shantung model. I will make that hat sexy.
